The development desk your nonprofit can’t staff

Grants.gov lists thousands of opportunities at any moment. Every major foundation posts RFPs on its own schedule, in its own format, on its own site. By the time your team hears about the one that matches your work, half the application window is gone.

This closes it while it’s still open.

What it does

  • Watches Grants.gov, state grant portals, and the foundation pages your team cares about.
  • Reads each posting — eligibility, award size, deadline, program officer — and writes a short brief per match.
  • Filters by CFDA code, program area, geography, and award size.
  • Highlights what’s new this week vs. still open from earlier.

The reveal

Monday morning: your development lead has a brief on three matching opportunities with deadlines in the next 60 days, award sizes, and the specific program officer to reach out to — before the team meeting, not after.

What it doesn’t do

No grant-writing. No “should we apply?” No auto-submission. It tells you what’s open and what the funder is asking for; your team brings the proposal.

Configuration

  • Program areas: subject areas, CFDA codes, populations served.
  • Geography: states, counties, or service areas.
  • Award size range: minimum and maximum to include.
  • Foundation portals: specific funder pages to watch alongside the federal sources.

Triggers

Runs every Monday morning and whenever a watched portal posts. Ad hoc: “show me everything matching our rules that’s still open.”
